Scratchers all! The much anticipated clash between the two road
racing giants - Hailwood and Agostini - turned out to be a non event at the 1966 Brands Hatch season closer, when after little more than 100 yards from the start, the former's 250cc Honda six threw a rod and day belonged solely to the Italian.
