 There's nothing like being prepared, and in the Army's Eastern Command Trial in June 1938, competitors had to tackle some observed sections while wearing gas masks. This is the RASC team, on 550 cc side-valve Triumphs and 350cc ohv G3 Matchlesses, led by Cpl. H. Morley, at Chobham Ridge.

 Aren't there just times when you wished you belonged to the AA? Sheene pushes in after crashing the Kawasaki 500 Mach 1 at the Thruxton 500 in May 1970. He was teamed with Dave Croxford who had built up a commanding lead before Barry threw away their hopes of victory in the famous production race. (You Tube)

 Sheene's first full season as a works Suzuki rider saw him fall out with team-mate Stan Woods (pictured right) when he tried to commandeer his bike to help him win the FIM F750 title.
