Q. What does this site offer exactly?

A. As well as an insight into our 4 million+ image archive, we are now offering reprints from certain photos used within our magazines. They include:

We currently only offer a small selcetion from our 4 million plus image archive on-line.

Q. Are images available for commercial use?

A. Yes. Currently our site is targeted at consumers, but we will be adding a commercial section in 2010. All of Mortons archive is available for commercial use, for single-use, unlimited run or repeated use. Please contact Jane Skayman, Mortons archive manager, on 01507 529423 today for more details.



Q. How are the prints produced?

A. The images are scanned in high resolution for the magazines, and sized to fit the 10" x 8" (A4 with bordering) size. They are scanned in 300dpi at 3000x2400 pixels. This format produces stunning quality, but do remember some images in our archive are well over 80 years old, and may contain marks from the original photo material.

When you order a print, the successful order is emailed securely to a photo lab company which has worked with Mortons for many years producing photos for our titles.

They will print the image onto high quality professional paper, which will preserve the image and give you a stunning print to enjoy for many years to come.

Orders are posted directly to you, normally within 14 days.

 

Q. What are the print types offered?

Glossy:
Photo printed directly onto high photo grade glossy paper.

Canvas:

Canvas Print format
Photo is printed onto a canvas format, with wooden backing.
Gives the image a matt / water panting styled look.
Currently a very popular choice.

 

Q. How do I find the print I want?

A. If the photo has appeared on-line, see the magazine's web site - which will contain a link directly to the photo available to buy. If you have seen a photo inside one of our publications, it should mention the picture is available on Mortons archive web site. Only a few of the hundreds of images used every month are placed on-line due to time constraints, but we can always accepts requests for additional prints by telephone.

As we are adding images randomly, it may help to use the Advanced Search box. This will allow you to quickly find ALL images, either by Year, Publication, Month - or from a word in the original feature.

We will also be adding photos that have never been IN our titles, as our archive does contain over 4 million images!
These will be listed under 'Unpublished Photo'.
More searching abilities will be added as the archive grows.

 

Q. I can't find a photo!

A. It may have not yet been added. If you have seen a photo inside our publication that is marked as being available from Mortons Archive - but is not found on-line, please contact us.

We only put a selection of prints online, but if you have seen a photo that is marked as being from our Archive that you want to buy a copy of, please also contact us.

 

Q. Is ordering on-line safe?

A. Completely. Mortons has been taking secure online orders for subscriptions, back issues and merchandise with total security since 1999.

Nowadays, your card payment is taken by Secure Trading Ltd. They work closely with LLoyds TSB to process the transaction, and we never see your card details, only the successful order once processed.

Double Red are our print processing partner, and they will receive your order which will contain your name and address along with the prints ordered. Double Red will NOT store or use your personal details, nor will they pass them onto any third party. Neither Mortons Media or Double Red ever get to see your card details.

We will contact you again only if you have requested it at point of payment, OR if there is a technical problem with your order.
